Prayer Changes things!

"Pastor I'm just so excited, the tests came back and there was no cancer!" All the Glory to God, prayer changes things! No matter what you are going through, prayer changes things!

I have heard comments like the above comment, from a nurse who was recently anguishing over a medical situation her husband was going through, over and over again. Actually I have never met a person who could honestly tell me that there was nothing in their life that required prayer of some kind. Human life is fraught with problems, challenges, difficulties and all manors of mountains to climb. As long as there is life there is challenge.

I fully believe that challenges of every kind were not an accident nor simply the work of satan, but the plan of God, as our loving heavenly father, who has caused man to rely solely on Him! Remember it was God who put Adam, Eve and the devil in the garden, on the same planet at the same time. Do you really think that was a random chance event? No God allowed all the players in this historic world-changing event to play out a scenario that would ultimately set up a world where man would be dependant on God's love. This was done to teach man the incredible power of "He" who created all things, and sustains them by His will. Every mountain climbed, every challenge overcome and every difficulty circumvented builds our faith and teaches something about God's love for His children.

Only when we come to the place where we realize how absolutely powerless we are do we place ourselves in the path of a miracle. I have called it the "Red Sea Moment." I don't think Israel really knew how powerless they were till they stood on the edge of the Gulf of Aqaba (The Red Sea) and looking across to Saudi Arabia, turned their attention back to the Egyptian army right behind them. The thunder of the hoof beats of their enemies, echoing through the mountain passes and the hot sun radiating off the desert sand. The glint of Pharaoh's armor shining through the clouds of the hot arid sand, could only have made the smell of fear that hung in the air that much the more terrifying. It was a moment of terrible realization as they saw an un-crossable barrier ahead of them and the enemy right behind. Sometimes, life pins you down and hems you in on every side. At that moment, God!! Need I say more, when the enemy has you in his sights, GOD! Out of our utter powerlessness, frailties and weaknesses, can come that moment of decision where through our helplessness we recognize the only way out is God! In that moment, the "Red Sea Moment," we are ready for a Miracle!

Remember that the God we serve is greater than Pharaoh's armor, greater that Egypt's army, greater than the Red Sea and greater than what is troubling you! No sickness, trauma, trial, or financial reversal is greater than our God. There is no Ill that one single second in the presence of Almighty God would not solve!
